Are there any results of REMDESIVIR cure already?

Clinical trials of remdesivir started in the US a few days ago. Doctors want to involve 400 people in 50 countries together. Half of them will give remdesivir, while the remainder will be given only placebo, a non-efficacious substance adjusted to the drug. The results of the study could be in late March.

How does REMDESIVIR work?

The main mechanism is that the active substance blocks the virus’s ability to multiply and thus does not develop the disease into severe phases.

Which patients will get REMDESIVIR?

Surely, let’s not imagine being prescribed by general practitioners to everyone. Indication criteria for remdesivir’s treatment approval are established worldwide by Gilead and concern very serious conditions.

“In general, the active substance Remdesivir is intended for patients in critical condition, ie those with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospitalization, and artificial ventilation, but each case is considered”

Barbora Peterová of the State Institute for Control pharmaceuticals

Will the REMDESIVIR help stop the spread of the disease?

No, but it is one of the next steps that can delay the disease, allow it to be better understood, and help those who are worst off. They open space for vaccine development. This is already being said, but it will not be in the world for eighteen months due to the necessary tests.
